PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

As a working student, you will be part of the data science team responsible for bringing intelligence into SAP products on asset management and predictive maintenance. We focus on the infusion of machine learning into existing functionalities as well as creating new business processes empowered by machine learning. As part of our work, we are responsible for delivering a world class machine learning engine that provides the capability to extend, configure, train and apply algorithms to time series data from the area of IoT. Our machine learning engine lives in the SAP Cloud Platform and brings together the capabilities of Leonardo Machine Learning and IoT data.
We are involved in strategic projects with customers, partners and our entire ecosystem where thinking outside the boundaries of SAP’s walls is key to success. Learnings from our co-innovation projects and requirements from our customers form the basis of our standard products with which we deliver immense business value to our customers.    

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
We look for students passionate about developing advanced customer solutions, taking responsibility to develop a task independently but also being able to integrate into a team. As a working student in the Data Science team, you will collaborate with motivated colleagues in a culturally diverse group. We offer an attractive and challenging range of topics, including: 

• Evaluation of new approaches for failure prediction and anomaly detection
• Building prototypes for the evaluation of new technologies
• Support implementation of functionality for the Machine Learning Engine of SAP Predictive Maintenance and Service

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Student at university or university of applied sciences
• Preferred field(s) of study: Computer Science or related fields
• Computer skills: R, Python, experience with Azure or AWS infrastructure is a plus.
• Language skills: Fluency in English (written and verbal); German language skills would be a plus.
• Soft skills: Strong analytical skills, creativity, openness to working in a multinational team.
