CASTING CALL – PLAYS FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES
Hood in the Wood by Noël Greig
produced by The English Theatre Frankfurt & directed by René Marie Becker
The English Theatre Frankfurt (ETF) is a private English-speaking theatre. It is the third oldest and the largest English-speaking theatre on the European mainland. The ETF usually produces five English-language plays of various genres per season and shows classics, contemporary plays and musicals. The programme also includes at least one play for young audiences. The roles are played exclusively by native or near-native English-speaking theatre professionals.

.The play
Hood in the Wood is the story of a daughter suffocating in the neat, clean and safe world her mother has built around her. Fortunately, there is Gran. The care-free artist living in the woods. When she falls sick, the daughter decides to cross the woods to help her out and embarks on a dark adventure. This retelling of the fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood, with rhyming lines and live music, questions the price of freedom and independence.
Actor Requirements
The applicants should have passion for and experience in theatre, preferably also in the field of children and youth theatre. All actors should be based in Frankfurt or within the Rhine-Main area and be either Native or near native/fluent English speakers. Non-binary actors are also welcome to apply.
Music will be an important aspect/underscore to this story – so all actors should be comfortable with music, rhythm and poetry and have a sense of playfulness (the characters sometimes speak in rhythm or break into song.)
