European Supply Chain is looking for an Senior Expansions Manager, Supply Chain Optimization, who will support the Supply Chain Optimization Leader in taking our network of fulfillment centers to the next level. An ever-changing market is requiring us to come up with new solutions, because doing 'more of the same' no longer cuts it. The Senior Expansions Manager will focus on strategic initiatives that look around corners to optimize the cost of storage and fulfillment, and future proof our fulfillment center network. You will work with multiple teams across EU Consumer, Operations, Engineering, Technology and Finance, to ensure that Supply Chain Optimization can develop an EU-wide and Expansions vision. The role demands strong people skills as well as program management capabilities.

The position requires working in a fast paced, highly demanding and often ambiguous environment. The role offers an opportunity to be part of a novel team that will make a significant impact on leading/delivering strategic initiatives, and supporting the Supply Optimization Leader in re-defining and building a successful strategy for Supply Chain optimization across Europe and respective Expansion countries .

This role is key in translating economic and analytic outputs into actionable insights/recommendations to drive global strategy policy making, and re-design the ways we structure our long-term Expansions Supply Chain strategy.

You should be enthusiastic about working with complex data, solving problems in a systematic manner, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a progressive environment. You should have solid business and communication skills to be able to work with business owners, understand complex business issues & opportunities, and guide data-focused decision making into proposals for innovative supply chain designs with the overall Supply Chain team. Above all, you should be enthusiastic about how insights can be used to ease strategic policy making decisions.

The ideal candidate is able to collaborate effectively with business leaders to answer key business questions. They will need to be comfortable with ambiguity in an ever-growing and ever-changing environment, and be able to guide multi-functional teams.

Key job responsibilities
· Solving complex strategic problems to innovate supply chain designs addressing business constraints
· Engage with leadership and diversified customer groups to understand the needs and recommend practical solutions to future proof our expansions network
· Define effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple groups with diverse priorities.
· Partner with Finance, Real Estate and Engineering organizations to validate and optimize the future cost and sustainability
· Collaborate with Technology teams to ensure that Amazon systems will support the new expansions network design·
· Derive strategic risk mitigation recommendations from analysis that significantly impacts EU Operations/Supply Chain.
· Act as a force multiplier for the Supply Chain Optimization Leader, deputizing for the Leaders as needed
· Supporting presentations to senior executives/leaders as needed (including strategy reviews, OP1, OP2, MBR, QBR etc.).

A day in the life
This role will be an one part of the newly founded long-term risk planning team within supply Chain and look at the expansions implementation and strategy.
