Prime Video is seeking a Software Development Manager to build a new team at our development center in Berlin, Germany. This position sits within our Financial Systems organization and will lead the development of high impact software systems to ensure billions of euros in customer purchases are tracked, accounted for, and the resulting royalties calculated and paid to our content and device partners. This organization is part of Prime Video’s Commerce Platform whose overarching mission is to enable our customers to successfully complete their transactions and access their favourite content on any device worldwide.

The Software Development Manager will report to the Director of Financial Systems. In this role you will work closely with business and technical leaders from Prime Video and Finance/Accounting to define and build complex software ensuring we can continue to expand and support growth into new countries, business lines, and content types to delight our customers world-wide. You will manage a team of software engineers and help define the vision and roadmap for your program. You will hire, coach and grow your team while building for long term success.

Your software will need to scale to support business growth, enabling new features our customers love including our subscription content and exclusive live sporting events around the world. This position will require a flexible and pragmatic approach while maintaining high standards of quality. You will use strong judgement while being open to new ideas, able to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Key job responsibilities
The Software Development Manager is responsible for the following:

• Hire and be an active coach for your team
• Partner with stakeholders and product management to define your roadmap
• Deliver accurate and scalable automation of existing and future financial processes
• Ensure your systems are built and operate with a high level of quality
• Communicate effectively with leadership, engineers, and others both verbally and in writing

A day in the life
You will work closely with other Financial Systems and business teams in Berlin, London and Seattle to establish your charter and roadmap. Your primary parters will be Prime Video business expansion leaders, Accounting, Finance, Content Acquisition, and Transaction Lifecycle. Previous financial systems experience is helpful but not required as long as your have a deep willingness to learn.
