Amazon Neptune is a fast, scalable, fully-managed graph database service, already used by thousands of customers around the globe. Neptune powers graph use cases such as recommendation engines, fraud prevention, knowledge graphs, network security, drug discovery, and many more.


We are looking for a collaborative, engaged leader who has experience working on complex software systems — ideally in the space of data management, data processing systems, or graph data. You will be using your own previous experience as a software developer and the voice of your team to set direction. Using your management experience you help the team organize their project work smoothly and remove day-to-day impediments from their work. But the most important part of your role will be growing, motivating, and mentoring your team.



You will lead a team of talented engineers with the goal of improving Amazon Neptune’s query performance and adding new features, so our customers can run their innovative graph use cases even better.

A day in the life
As our new manager you will…


* Directly hire, motivate, and grow engineering talent and leadership within your group.
* Own and drive topics to help your team focus.

* Organize and facilitate projects with an agile mindset to help engineers deliver smoothly.

* Work with other development teams inside Amazon as your core customers.

* Identify and eliminate developer pain points in processes and toolchains.

* Work closely with remarkable engineers, product and business leaders on exciting problems in the graph database field.

* Be a clear voice for the operational excellence and sustainability of your teams.
