The AWS Platform is the glue that holds the AWS ecosystem together, handling over 750 million transactions per second across core AWS building blocks such as resource management & governance, access management & sign-on, cryptography, and billing. In AWS Identity, we build massively scaled, distributed platform capabilities for all of AWS, enabling our customers to control, govern, and secure the most sensitive data on the internet. We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager with a passion for building highly reliable and low latency services for use by all AWS Services and customers to manage their AWS cloud resource footprint. Come be a part of defining how our customers large and small explore, organize, and manage millions of AWS resources, and make those ideas come to live by building systems that serve hundreds of thousands of transactions per second, search over terabytes of unstructured and structured data, and develop new ways to quickly visualize and manage those resources. We are on a journey to build a new cloud capability that dramatically simplifies how customers will manage their entire cloud footprint on AWS across all services and products, changing the way every customer will interact with AWS. Key job responsibilities
* Manage and develop the team, including hiring, retention, performance management, mentoring, and capability/skill development.
* Lead the effort to build highly reliable and high-performance foundational services that offer the best in operational excellence.
* Lead architecture, technical and UX design, implementation, and operational support of tools and services.
* Evaluate complex business and technical requirements, and communicate inherent risks and solutions to technical and non-technical business owners.
* Engaging program/product managers to identify new product opportunities, defining & designing product features.
* Act as point of contact for communications dealing with project deliverables, setting expectations, managing priorities, technologies, human factors, and management issues.
* Establish high bar for processes and standards in the execution of all projects.
About the team
We are an EMEA-based team embracing a hybrid work culture allowing our team members to work from any of our EMEA-based AWS legal entities located in Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, and the UK. For those individuals that prefer to collaborate in-person with a larger team, joining the Berlin team will afford them that opportunity. We also have teams in the US, mainly based in Seattle and Virginia, also embracing a hybrid work culture, together focused on solving specific challenges in the resource management space such as tagging, sharing, bulk actions, and grouping of resources.
Our team gives high value to work-life harmony. Due to Covid-19, our team currently works from home and ensure that core working hours stays within 10.00AM to 4.00PM.
