Job summary
We are looking for a System Development Engineer to join the Hypervisor Security Team. You will take ownership of systems that run our automated code analysis and testing tools, and help scale them up further in the cloud environment. You will work with the authors of these systems and help them adapt their tooling accordingly. You will innovate to help continually delivering secure kernels, hypervisors, and operating system components that are part of our virtualization stack.

Proficiency in the German language is not required for this position.

Key job responsibilities
Develop and maintain scalable code analysis systems targeting hypervisor and kernel code. Experiment with new technologies and bring them into production. Develop automation and operational metrics, improve operations. Take part in time-critical security work.

  • Contribute to and review design documents
  • Grab lunch outside the office or meet up on the roof terrace
  • Meet with peers from your team and the wider org to exchange ideas
  • Over time, start interviewing candidates

About the team
The Amazon Development Center in Dresden, Germany, is building the foundation of the Amazon EC2 virtualization platforms. Our teams are responsible for the development, maintenance and security of the Amazon hypervisors and Linux Kernels that make up the engine of the Amazon EC2 compute servers. The Dresden based teams also own proactive security activities for the hypervisors Linux and Xen running on almost every Amazon Server worldwide.
