BESCHREIBUNG

Job summary
AWS has the most services and features compared to any other cloud provider – from infrastructure technologies like compute, storage, and databases–to emerging technologies, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, data lakes and analytics, and Internet of Things. The AWS Platform is the glue that holds the AWS ecosystem together, handling over 750 million transactions per second across core AWS building blocks such as resource management & governance, access management & sign-on, cryptography, and billing. In AWS Identity, we build massively scaled, distributed platform capabilities for all of AWS, enabling our customers to control, govern, and secure the most sensitive data on the internet. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need brilliant engineering leaders to work with us on these initiatives, always innovating with the customer in mind.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Development Manager with a passion for building highly reliable and low latency services for use by all AWS Services and customers to manage their AWS Resources. Come be a part of defining how our customers, large and small find, organize, and manage their AWS resources. Build systems that serve millions of transactions per second, search over terabytes of unstructured data, and develop new ways to quickly visualize and manage those resources. We are embarking on projects to scale our architecture to hundreds of millions of transactions per second, and it’s a great time to join and contribute to the design and take it all the way to production.

Responsibilities for this role include engaging program/product managers to identify new product opportunities, defining & designing product features, collaborating with UX designers and Front-End Engineers to build a User Interface surfacing multiple AWS services, and leading the effort to build highly reliable and high-performance foundational services that offer the best in class operational excellence. Successful applicants will have experience defining service architecture, strong development skills and extensive experience in UI and software design, development, testing, and operations. They will also be excellent in working with cross-functional teams, product managers, marketing, and design stakeholders, and possess deep technical skills. They will need to be a strong leader, able to communicate clearly and inspire others around them to influence and work with services all across AWS. Come join our start-up culture, wear many hats, work fast and smart, while adapting and iterating quickly. We are looking for someone who is ready to roll-up their sleeves and join a tightly-knit team that is tackling a very interesting and challenging opportunity.

A successful candidate will bring deep technical and software expertise, strong business acumen and judgement, the ability to help define visionary, ground breaking products, ability to hire and lead a team, and the desire to have an industry-wide impact. You will thrive in a fast paced, high energy and fun work environment where we deliver value incrementally and frequently. We value highly technical, hands-on, data-driven leaders who know their subject matters deeply, are willing to learn new areas, and are hardwired towards engineering excellence. We look for individuals who will set aside meaningful time to develop themselves and their teams as we continually learn from customers. It's still Day 1!
