Software Development Engineer , Outbound Marketing in Berlin

Job summary
The Amazon.com Outbound Marketing team is looking for a motivated software development engineer to join our team. We own foundational systems that power all of Amazon's customer-facing marketing communication on email, SMS, push channels, voice, and other emerging messaging applications. We build automated and message-optimizing engines that leverage integrated machine learning, massive data processing and adaptive algorithms to deliver the best messages to Amazon’s customers, over the best channel, and at the right time. Our systems ensure best-in-class engagement experience and our team strives to deliver highly relevant, personalized marketing communications to Amazon customers.

As a member of our team you will interact closely with other teams that generate automated marketing and transactional notifications and improve the platform experience. You will create the right environment for customers to usefully engage with outbound marketing content by knowing their implicit and explicit preferences. You will also provide a consistent and seamless experience for customers to interact with marketing communication across all devices and platforms that they use.

Key job responsibilities
• Participate in the full development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters
• Own the delivery of an entire piece of a system or application, and serve as a owner on small to midsize complex projects
• Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments
• Work closely with the architects to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development
• Build software solutions where the problem is not well defined. Design and define the interaction between the other component pieces
• Create and execute appropriate quality plans, project plans, test strategies and processes for development activities in concert with business and project management efforts.
