Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Talent & Development (T&D) Principal with a focus on Leadership Development (LD) for our Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region.

The T&D enables our business to identify, develop and place our talent to deliver for our customers over time.

The AWS T&D team has four key areas of focus: providing meaningful experiences, the assignment of a project or role both aligned to a critical business need and a builder’s skill set and aspirations; building ownership, driven by team onboarding, inclusion, and engagement; driving contribution, the value-added activities and tasks a leader performs to deliver results on behalf of customers, along with their future potential compared to others; and development by delivery, the facilitation of intentional growth through in-role experience that builds readiness for new growth opportunities. By developing the capability of our leaders, we expand the capacity of our talent pipeline, improving performance and retention, and increase the number of ready-now internal candidates for critical leadership roles.

The T&D Principal joins the Talent & Development team for AWS in EMEA and will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following key deliverables:
• Consulting on current and future organization learning needs, identifying, co-designing and delivering relevant solutions
• Advocating for learning and leadership development among stakeholders, including driving results and operational excellence in partnership with HR and business leadership
• Program Managing (PM) the implementation of global and regional leadership development programs
• Delivering executive development solutions for senior leaders across the region
• Facilitating leadership and team development programs as required
• Managing the team

This role requires strong program management experience as well as experience in design and facilitation of leadership training and team effectiveness workshops. There will be the opportunity to own learning solutions from end-to-end, including measuring impact. The person will have a hands-on role managing program details, improving processes and engaging stakeholders, while also learning from customer feedback to improve the learning experience. This person will also collaborate with HR partners and business leaders to create and execute on a strategy to develop effective managers, employees and future leaders for AWS. In this role the person will have an opportunity to help create, evolve, and grow mechanisms and programs to that address our employees’ development needs at a scale that is unmatched. This role will partner with AWS business leaders, HR partners, and the broader Amazon Leadership and Talent Development community and will report to the Director for Talent and Development in EMEA.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of:
• Innovation - appreciate what exists, identify why it works and see if there is a different way to drive more learning value with a mindset of continuous improvement
• Thinking big - how do we building bigger, better, faster? What are we not thinking of?
• Consulting - utilize past experience, deep knowledge of processes and policies, and knowing what is going on across our organization to create custom solutions and localize as needed.
• Teaching - you are the expert in this space. Create learning experiences, deliver it, and teach others how to do it.
• Numbers - data. Love them, use them. Be more than comfortable talking about them in a deep and detailed way, able to tell someone what the numbers are actually saying.
• Judgment - take different perspectives and business needs, develop a solution that works, move the ball forward. Be able to support your opinions with sound reasoning grounded in the business.
• Prioritization - there will be a constant flow of work, both tactical and strategic. Determine what gets done first and why, while managing a plan for what to do with everything else.
• Bias for Action and dealing with ambiguity - sometimes it is not clear how we are going to get there. Can you help carve a path? How fast can you do it? What are the tradeoffs?
• Building relationships - partner with HR Business Partners and central teams. Share best practices, partner on solutions, and move the organizations forward together.
• Program management - build plans with clear objectives, milestones, stakeholders, and metrics.
