Key job responsibilities
· Create and maintain visual design artifacts such as high-fidelity mockups, flows and diagrams, illustrations, motion specifications, icons, and layouts.
· Help to define and advance the visual language of the Design System, which includes colors, typography, layout, illustration, iconography, and motion.
· Advocate for best practices in design execution both within our team as well as the larger AWS design community.

A day in the life
Our team’s mission is to improve the productivity and happiness of other AWS teams. We achieve this by diving deep on design challenges at scale and helping teams to create better experiences for all AWS customers.

You will create and turn user insights into reusable and scalable design patterns. You will work closely with other designers, developers, and customers to help us scale the Design System across AWS and beyond.

You will work with and create modern design tools, and work with 200+ AWS teams using the design system.

About the team
The AWS Design System is a collection of UX patterns, visual design rules, design guidance and reusable user interface components in code.

You can imagine the Design System as a collection of composable building blocks, or atoms, that you can connect together to build user interfaces. But it’s more than just the blocks. What focus a lot on is the rules on how the blocks should be connected to build usable, predictable and consistent user experiences.

Currently the AWS Design System is being built by 3 cross-functional ‘two-pizza teams’.
