Inland Delivery Associate is responsible for cargo movement, and intermodal cost leadership through end to end process ownership. He/She will also ensures timely and planned delivery of import and export containers while utilizing preferred or line approved routings, linked to inland growth providing the highest level of customer satisfaction.

The position is a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months

Key responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the Inland Delivery Associate are mainly, but not limited to:

  • Plan and execute the timely movement of cargo and coordinating with vendors and customer service
  • Ensure that all planned and executed store door import/export requirements and standards are followed, based on planning/optimization/allocating/execution.
  • Clear focus on transport costs (comparing costs and quality) and inland volume growth for Maersk Line
  • Ensuring that transport volume is split over suppliers as per guideline from the management
  • Rates, Invoicing and Dispute handling + Costs Recovery and Cost Control
  • Ensures max. utilization of own rail products and as well optimize triangulation (Trk/Rail)
  • Customer oriented mindset to fulfilling customer requirements
  • Working in the daily operations with meetings, safety standard, proper documentation and regulations
  • Serve as first point of contact to resolve vendor, customer and internal queries/issues
  • Monitor and resolve issues as they occur during planning or execution for the own area of responsibility & ownership – mainly for vendors, terminals, rail stations, depots.
  • Work closely with your Supervisor/Manager in regards the daily operations, objectives and ML purposes
  • Reports daily store door movements, service failure issues and other challenges to the Supervisor and the respective stakeholders
  • Tracks and reports extra costs and performance issues during execution
  • Works closely with vendors on performances and builds relationships for future growth
  • Maintains data integrity through accurate inputs/updates to all related systems
  • Work closely with other Maersk business units, including Equipment, Customer Service, Sales and TnM to serve customers in the right way and improve processes while resolving issues
  • Participate and contribute towards the ML operating System
  • Identifies and suggest continuous improvement possibilities in the ways of working

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or at least two to four years of experience in the transportation/shipping industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Working knowledge of MS office (Outlook, Word, Excel) products and ability to quickly adapt to software
