PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

As part of the Consumer Industries development unit, our team is located in St. Ingbert and develops software with a focus on solutions for retail and omnichannel commerce. At our St. Ingbert location, approximately 80 developers work on-site in 7 development teams, with further development teams located in Walldorf, Scottsdale, and Montreal.

We are looking for talented and motivated students (f/m/d), interested in learning about the end-to-end software development cycle, from recognizing the needs of our customers/end users through to software maintenance. You will also learn about the Design Thinking approach and agile software development methodologies.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As a member of a small development team (SCRUM team), you will work locally in the region Saarland/Rheinland-Pfalz/Lothringen. You will implement solutions in Java, JavaScript (as part of SAP Frontend-Framework Fiori) or in ABAP OO (the SAP object-oriented programming language). Additionally, you will gain several agile software engineering practices. As base, we expect practical experiences in the areas Java, JavaScript and Object Oriented design.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Student (f/m/d) at a university or university of applied sciences
  • Preferred field(s) of study:  Computers Science, Business Informatics, Natural Sciences or related fields
  • Computer skills:  Programming skills in one or more programming languages
  • Language skills:  Sound English and German skills - verbal and written 
  • Soft skills:  Ability to work in a team, but also being able to work self sufficient
  • Others:  Good communication skills
