English Material Developer (m/f) in Köln

Learnship Networks GmbH is looking for a full-time Instructional Designer to join our international Material Development team in Cologne, Germany. Learnship is a global language-learning provider founded in 2008 and headquartered in Cologne, Germany. We are the first European-wide internet language school specializing in live online instruction, connecting students and teachers from all over the world by video-conference in an interactive online classroom.

What are you going to do:

Learnship is looking for one full-time staff member to join our Material Development team in Cologne, Germany, for a duration of one or two years to start with. The selected candidates must be willing to start as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating supplementary material for English courses
  • Creating and formatting English learning material
  • Coordinating the work of external developers
  • Researching suitable material for specific client requests
  • Digitizing material
  • Fixing errors
  • Design and layout of the material

What we ask:

  • ​Native level English speaker; intermediate Japanese skills would be a plus
  • Has a background in Linguistics / English / Education or a similar field
  • Has extensive experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word and PowerPoint
  • Ideally has previous experience in creating learning material or teaching English:
  • Design and layout experience
  • Use of industry-standard image editing tools
  • Use of industry-standard e-learning content authoring tools a bonus
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently on tasks
  • Ability to quickly learn new formatting skills
  • An eye for design and detail
  • High-level of comfort with technology
  • Enthusiasm for the product
  • Energetic, highly-motivated and flexible with a friendly, outgoing personality
  • A ‘hands-on´ mentality and pro-active approach
  • Enjoys working in a multilingual team
