Job summary
Amazon is seeking an Immigration Manager in Germany to support the needs of our growing organization. In this German based leadership role, you will oversee a team of in-house immigration specialists responsible for managing end-to-end immigration services for Amazon candidates and employees. You will be accountable for improving employee and candidate experience, for coaching and developing team members, and for building and improving processes in close collaboration with regional specialists in communications and process engineering.

This role will report into the Senior Manager, EMEA and APAC and have accountability for all aspects of the German immigration program, including sourcing, managing a large team of Immigration Specialists. The right leader for this role values continuous improvement, process and data inspection, and has proven record in successfully growing and designing new programs and capabilities with the employee experience at the forefront.

Key job responsibilities
• Manage and mentor a team of German Immigration Specialists responsible for case managing German immigration applications, providing expert immigration advice to international employees, HR, recruiters and business leaders and engaging government authorities involved in the immigration matters
• Employ strong German immigration experience to identify trends and develop targeted program-level goals and initiatives
• Drive conception and execution of vision and goals for the team, providing stretch opportunities to foster individual development
• Act as a subject matter expert and advise on case-level filing strategies including complex situations that require independent research and interpretation of processes and policies from both internal and external sources in ambiguous circumstances
• Partner with internal teams, including Recruitment, HR, Legal, Risk and Compliance and Public Policy, to review and understand the impact of German immigration changes and develop associated processes, filing strategies and proposed resourcing plans
• Educate HR and business partners on German immigration policies and their impact on business and hiring strategies
• Partner with EMEA and Global Immigration Program Managers to build performance measurement and inspection mechanisms and tools to evaluate the overall health of the German immigration program
• Implement regular reviews of current processes to ensure ongoing compliance, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and lead continuous improvement initiatives
