Clinical trial in the Netherlands ICON-21298X (reimbursement € 2.260,- )

What are you going to do:

ICON is looking for participants for the study Clotting problems. You will receive a gross compensation of € 2.260 for your participation in the study. You can participate in drug research for various reasons. For example, because you want to give patients a better life. Or because you have a lot of time to spend freely during the research and you want to use the time at the research center in a pleasant or worthwhile manner. Or because you receive a compensation. Taking part in drug research is a worthwhile activity for everybody involved.

During your stay at our research center in Groningen (the Netherlands) you will have a lot of time for yourself. You have time to study or you challenge your fellow participants to a game of table tennis, air hockey or darts. The living rooms have Playstations 4, TVs with Netflix. And of course there is fast WiFi that you can use with your smartphone, laptop or tablet. You do something good for someone else, while also earning some money and meeting new people!

What are you going to do?

The trial including the medical screening will be approximately 4 to 6 weeks long.

• If you pass the screening, you will be admitted for one night at the  research facility in Groningen. After the overnight stay, you will be directed to take a blood thinner and measure your blood values at home for 9 days. You will be asked to come to our research facility for one short visit on Day 5 or Day 6 after starting the blood thinner.
• After 9 days you will return to our research facility and blood tests will be taken to determine whether you can continue with the trial. If you continue, you will stay in the research facility of Groningen for 5 nights (6 days). You will receive the study compound during this period. This period will be followed by 3 short visits. The last follow-up will take place during the last short visit approximately 2 weeks after the start of the period.
• In case you do not meet the desired lab values after receiving the blood thinner, you cannot continue with the trial. This will be discussed with our research physician, you will not receive the study compound. You will be reimbursed for all the activities you have done in the study to this moment.

PLEASE NOTE: You must be available for all the dates in the study. The short visits are flexible and you can choose between two dates.

 Compensation  

• You will receive a gross compensation of € 2.260,- for participation in the entire study.
• If you do not meet the selection criteria after receiving the blood thinner, you will receive a gross compensation of  €1.461,-

Travel expenses will be reimbursed based on the distance traveled (€ 0,19 net per kilometer) with a minimum of € 12,- and a maximum of € 160,- (840 kilometers) per round trip, regardless of the mode of transportation.
