Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is the Middle Mile network specifically focused on unlocking barriers to fast and reliable delivery for customers across EU and is responsible for our transportation network planning, line-haul and air-haul operations (Amazon Air) as well as sortation operations. ATS is a fast growing and dynamic business. The Sort Centers are the nodes between the Fulfillment Centers (FC) and the Last Mile Delivery network (AMZL: Amazon Logistics). ATS currently operates nine Sort Centers across Germany, in the regions: Nürnberg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Köln, Berlin, Leipzig, Hannover and Kassel, with further launches being planned. The DE Sort Centers process millions of packages annually, using various sorting technologies and processes, to ensure our customers receive their packages on time. Overview
As a member of the MEU Operations team, we are looking for a Sustainability Ambassador to develop and scale sustainable solutions at the DE sites in order to meet the carbon reduction goals set out in Amazon’s Climate Pledge – with an impact that spans across the entire network. The role can be based out of any of the DE sort centers. In this cross-functional role, you will be actively engaging with the EU ATS Sustainability Program Management Team, Regional Leadership, the Regional Sort Support Team, Site Operations, Central and Local Support Teams. You will be instrumental in laying out the Strategic roadmap of the Sustainability Ambassador Program for the network and will act as the Regional Director’s direct partner and the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on driving all sustainability initiatives for the MEU network. To be effective in this role, you need to be a great communicator by proactively bringing all stakeholders to the table and influence through your agility, creativity and resourcefulness. As a successful SME, you are natural at building and maintaining both formal and informal connections/relationships within your network and you are able to explain complicated topics and convince your audience at various levels of seniority. You will need to earn trust, be resilient and confident at driving/adopting change to break through established routines, remove barriers and ensure changes are embraced. You will utilize business insights and methodical skills to influence teams' understanding of how to adopt various initiatives and be committed to problem solving, getting things done and finding workarounds to not jeopardize deadlines. The ability to work with others and deal with an ambiguous environment is a must. You will have to deliver results across multiple facilities and geographies, which will involve travel within DE network in order to identify continuous improvement opportunities. The ideal candidate is motivated, agile, with strong time management and project management skills. The candidate will also have a passion for helping us to identify and promote sustainable best practices at Amazon.



Key job responsibilities
• Building the Sustainability Roadmap for DE Sort Centers and driving sustainability initiatives across the network
• Liaising with the EU ATS Sustainability team to drive EU wide projects and act as single point of contact for all Sustainability related items for MEU
• Driving weekly connects with regional and site stakeholders to derive insights and actions
• Standardizing network wide best practices while balancing site specific needs through calls with site ambassadors
• Deep diving and reporting on Sustainability metrics in the Weekly Business Reviews (WBR), Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR)
