Head of Accounting (m/f/d) in Berlin

Your Responsibilities

• You lead and develop our worldwide accounting operation located in the UK and the US
• You steer and closely collaborate with our external accounting and tax service providers
• You consolidate and report monthly and annual statutory accounts
• You manage and continue to build a best-in-class inhouse accounting team with the objective to insource accounting operation in 2022
• You implement a global cloud-based ERP system with support from across all functions and external system experts
• You build out accounting policies and procedures framework to ensure compliance with local and international tax and accounting principles
• You enhance control environment by designing and improving systems and processes
• You provide advice and support regarding business acquisitions and their integration into the group
• You are point of contact for external auditors, accounting partners as well as tax consultants
• You collaborate with CFO and Head of FP&A on the multi-year finance roadmap.

Your Profile

• You have at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, including running a global Accounting operation with a focus on international eCommerce in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• You hold a Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in combination with an internationally recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, Bilanzbuchhaltung International)
• You are proficient in IFRS, UK, German and/or US GAAP know-how is a plus
• You bring a solid understanding of European VAT and US Sales Tax and international transfer pricing principles
• You have hands-on experience with Netsuite, Quickbooks or Xero is expected
• Experience with implementing a global ERP solution (e.g., Netsuite) is a strong plus
• You bring excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with an entrepreneurial mindset
• The candidate must be fluent in English, German is a strong plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
