Business Development Manager - Molecular Biology (m/f/d) in Dresden

As Business Development Manager, you work in a highly qualified, cross-functional team to support Biotype’s corporate and business development activities. We are looking for someone who is eager to become a core member advancing Biotype’s position as technology and solution provider in molecular diagnostics (MDx).

Your Tasks

• Build attractive business models for the highly specialized market segments of molecular diagnostics
• Be the bridge between our internal innovation department and the strategic business development of the company
• Scout and evaluate new technologies and innovative products for molecular diagnostics
• Scout and evaluate business opportunities, new market segments, and partnering opportunities in line with our strategic goals
• Prepare market, competitive, and risk analysis (focus: MedTech, IVD, MDx, CDx, precision diagnostics)
• Actively shape our innovation management and technology transfer activities
• Supporting deal flow management
• Supporting technical due diligence of new technologies, products, and companies in the MDx market

Your Profile

• Strong motivation to design new business models and develop comprehensive business plans
• Ability to deeply understand platform technologies for bio-analytics and In Vitro Diagnostics
• Masters' degree (M.Sc.) minimum, preferably in life sciences, molecular biology, molecular medicine, biotechnology or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years industry experience is a must (e.g., in MedTech, IVD, diagnostics, BioTech, Startup, VC, venture management)
• Excellent understanding of technology-driven product innovations in the life sciences (BioTech) and/or medical diagnostics space (MedTech, IVD)
• Advocate of automated solutions, streamlined processes, and data-driven decision-making
• Interested in applying design thinking to drive product and business innovation
• Ability to keep up-to-date with relevant business and market intelligence
• Team player with strong organizational and communication skills
• Fluent in English and preferably German (both are working languages at Biotype)
