ABOUT THE TEAM


Security vulnerabilities in open source software is a serios security risk, especially in cloud application area. This threat must be effectively mitigated to protect SAP and SAP customers from data breaches and other security attacks.  
Open Source Software Security (OSS) team is a central team, which develops an SAP proprietary tool and provides 3rd party open source software security scan tools to SAP developers, which help to address OSS security risk in an effective and efficient manner.  

 

THE ROLE


You will be a part of a high-performing, motivated, incredibly supportive, and friendly team, co-located in Walldorf. Our team is responsible for SAP-wide provisioning of 3rd party OSS security scan tools, including vendor and stakeholder management, evaluation and rollout of the newest tool features.

This is an ideal starting position for an aspiring young professional (f/m/d), who wants to deepen DevOps, security and issue troubleshooting skills and get hands-on experience with security scanning tools. Furthermore, you will learn Open Source Software Security processes and leading OSS scanning tools on the market.  
As a working students or intern (f/m/d) you will  

  • evaluate newest tool features and add-ons like e.g. IDE plugins 
  • support the team by SAP-wide rollout of new features
  • troubleshoot issues and address them by tool vendors  
     

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences
  • Preferred fields of study: Computer Science or related fields  
  • Computer skills: Experience working with at Linux operating systems and command over basic shell scripts (grep, nano, vim, sed, awk etc)
  • Experience working with Virtualization and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure etc) an added plus
  • Language skills: fluent in English
  • Soft skills: self-motivated, proactive, reliable team player with the ability to learn quickly


Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
