ABOUT THE TEAM 

Central Engineering is a unit that builds core components and drives technology topics at SAP. Within Central Engineering, our team builds and runs the SAP Cloud Platform Master Data Integration service, which is a global-scale cloud-based service running on SAP Cloud Platform that is responsible for all master data replication and integration across SAP solutions in the Intelligent Enterprise. Based on our experience, we drive core technology topics around how cloud software is going to be built and operated at SAP in the future.

SAP Cloud Platform Master Data Integration service is based on event sourcing and relies on technologies like Kafka. Our service is built based on a monorepo with ReasonML (https://reasonml.github.io/), a functional programming language that leverages both the JavaScript and OCaml ecosystems. We heavily rely on Docker and Kubernetes to build and deploy our various services to SAP Cloud Platform multiple times per day.

THE ROLE

For our team, we are looking for your help to establish automated tooling for ensuring high software quality.

Your tasks will include:

• Establish static code checks for Node.js or ReasonML
• Build project-specific linters
• Setup automated code scans for various purposes such as vulnerability and security scans
• Provide visibility of the current level of software quality to our development team
• Automated generation of API documentation from source code

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Student (f/m/d) of computer science or a related field at a university or a university of applied sciences
• Experience with at least one programming language
• Knowledge or experience with functional programming beneficial
• Knowledge or experience with testing and test methodologies beneficial
• Ability to work within a team, while being able to self-manage and organize tasks
