PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
More than ever, developers need the right platform to quickly extend, build and run cloud business applications. With comprehensive services and capabilities, the SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) is the Platform-as-a-Service that meets the requirements of the business application developers and enables them to build better apps in less time.
Our team in Karlsruhe is co-driving the next evolution step of this platform to simplify the development of highly scalable, performant, robust and cost-efficient applications. We provide services that enable developers and operators to observe and analyze their cloud applications. Since the SAP Cloud platform is widely adopted, our services cope with large amounts of data and must deliver relevant insights reliably and in real time.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
We are looking for a tech-savvy student to support us in developing state-of-the-art Observability tools. We expect you to deep-dive into technology topics to investigate the pros, cons and pitfalls. Goals of the investigation are prototypes, presentations and education of the rest of the team.
It is in our best interest, to keep you from boredom. In return we expect you to fearlessly learn new things, acquire new knowledge and bring your experience into the team.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
You are a currently enrolled student at a university or a university of applied sciences:

• Studying preferably in the fields:   Computer Science (Master students or extremely motivated Bachelor students only)
• Living or studying preferably in or near to Karlsruhe to be able to work for at least 10h per week  
• Having the following computer skills: Java, Go, Kotlin, Rust, Linux, Spring, Scripting-Languages, SQL, CI-Tools,  AWS, GCP, Azure, Angular, Vue, SAP-UI5, React, version control systems, TDD,  Oauth2, SAML, Prometheus, Grafana, K8s, Containers or a reasonable subset thereof and the meta-skill of learning new skills
• Speaking English fluently and German as a plus     
• Besides that, you bring an independent working style, are curious, have no fear of unknown technologies and still know when to ask for help
• Others: Work experience is welcome, but curiosity is king
