Jobbeschreibung

For the Manufacturing Technologies division in Limbach-Oberfrohna (near Chemnitz) we are looking for a committed intern (m/f/diverse) for at least 3 months starting in February 2020. Low hardware costs and high computing power once again bring the topic of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) into focus. Although these have been in production for years, they are very expensive and require expensive orientation sensors. Based on a Raspberry PI and Arduino, a prototype is to be developed that is suitable as an autonomous transport system for production.

Job description:
  • Introduction to the topic of AGVs for shop floor applications as well as the hard and software modules
  • Dimensioning of the drive module and implementation of the drive control
  • Mechanical and electrical design of the motors
  • Development of a mechatronic model
  • Development of a model predictive controller concept with observer model and implementation to a micro controller
  • Generation of odometry information
  • Integration of the drive controller in ROS environment
  • Integration of safety relevant functions like self-monitoring and emergency stop
  • Support during integration of
  • Fail proof communication bus
  • Design of electrical safety circuits
  • Functional integration of components in the entire system
  • Student (m/f/diverse) with background from Electronic, IT or Mechatronic e.g. Electrotechnical Engineering, Automatization Engineering, Informatic, Mechatronic, Microsystem technique, Embedded Systems
  • Good knowledge of electronics, controller theory and measurement systems
  • Basic knowledge of programming and manual skills (e.g. soldering)
