PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES 
The SAP Innovation Center Network (ICN) is a strategic development entity within SAP, combining software engineering excellence with thought leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. Across various focus clusters and by building on strong teams, we pioneer game-changing solutions in close collaboration with startups, customers & partners in industry and research as well as with other SAP units. To ensure a successful go-to-market, we follow an end-to-end responsibility approach. By exploring unconventional ideas and developing inspiring proofs of concepts, we push the state of the art in computer science and its applied fields to provide SAP with foresight into future trends.  
Within the Technology Foresight team, we try to assess the impact of emerging technologies on SAP and its ecosystem. We identify upcoming opportunities when applying emerging technologies to real-world challenges. To collect evidence on trends and technologies, we have a set up a technology radar that is our platform to collaborate on the assessments and create a joint perspective within SAP.  
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS 
An important challenge in technology foresight is to make use of the heavy amounts of data to automate and support the assessment of technologies.  To achieve that we apply data science methods to find insights within those huge datasets. 
To broaden our perspective with a tech-savvy mind and to establish new approaches for technology foresight data-driven innovation, we would like to enrich the team with you, working as a working student (f/m/d). 

Your tasks will include: 

• Identification and exploration of new data sources for technology foresight, e.g., internal data, publication databases, analyst reports, etc. 
• Develop and evaluate prototypes for the (semi-)automatic analysis of data, making use of state-of-the-art machine learning techniques. 
• Contribute to technology assessments in different technology domains.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES 
You are a currently enrolled student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences:  

• Studying preferably in the fields: Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or related 
• Your studies have a focus in the field of data science, e.g., analytics, predictive modeling, deep learning, natural language processing, etc. 
• You have experience with multiple data science tools and frameworks, e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, Keras, Jupyter. 
• You’ve got a hands-on mentality and are eager to try out new technologies. 
• A plus: You can showcase first practical data science projects (e.g., on Github, Kaggle, with a student thesis, etc.)
