PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

S/4HANA Cloud Data Management team is tasked with managing data assets in the Digital Core. The LoB comprises of four main topics i.e.

  • SAP Data Foundation
  • Master Data Management and Governance
  • Data Protection and Privacy
  • Domain Model Alignment

SAP Data Foundation is responsible for shaping and creating the next generation data management platform as the foundation of the Intelligent Enteprise . For this the team works in close collaboration with other applications e.g. C/4 and the Technology units in a cross board area initiative to harmonize data processing across our stack.
SAP Data Foundation wants to enable our customers to harness the power of combining operational and experience data (X+O) in a semantically consistent manner. For a robust Data-as-a-Service offering a consistent data layer with stable data models is essential. SAP Data Foundation is established on the SAP Data Architecture. It is also envisioned that there will be a catalog of data services offered on top of the platform.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

We are working on SAP Data Foundation reference architecture which will outline the recommended approach to data management from SAP. As part of this process we are working on bringing to life the 1st set of Pilot scenarios on top of the SAP Data Foundation. We have identified 3 broad categories of scenarios -

  • Data Consolidation supporting cross system analytics, ML/AI scenarios etc.
  • Data Integration supporting e2e process integration
  • Customer / Partner Add-on scenarios

For each category we have identified atleast 1 Pilot use case and the opportunities are offered to join these Pilots

Expectations from the colleagues joining the fellowships are 

  • Understand the overall approach and detail out the use cases to be developed
  • Work on assessing and seamlessly combining appropriate technology platforms (SAP and third-party) in order to realize the scenarios
  • Do a detailed gap analysis and build plug-ins where needed to move the e2e scenario forward
  • Work on SCP, Data Intelligence Platform, HANA and the hyperscalers
  • Work in a co-innovation environment with early customers

We need to prove the viability of the overall approach in the next few months together with the customers and hence the pace will be fast

  • You will strengthen your Cloud Mindet

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences with focus on computer science
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Programming skills in Java and Open Source technologies
  • Exposure to data management and distributed computing
