PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Public Sector represents one of the strategic industries at SAP. We are targeting a 10,6+ bn € market potential, representing 11% of SAP’s addressable market. Our more than 8.800 customers in 138 countries include 58% of the United Nations member governments. Within the SAP Public Sector industry business unit, the Future Cities team, coordinates a cross-industry go-to-market strategy aimed at addressing the smart cities market, including not only city governments, but also a broad ecosystem of utilities, transit authorities, academic institutions and startups.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Project Work: Support Future Cities Go-To-Market

  • Understand SAP industry assignment across the smart cities ecosystem
  • Help prepare reports and forecasts of market potential for strategic planning and pipeline tracking
  • Analyze cities’ strategies and open data portals for the development of targeted solution demos

Operational Support: Besides Project work we are running multiple different topics where support is appreciated:

  • Managing the global Future Cities digital postcards
  • Be the main contact for the SAP Future Cities internal JAM page
  • Support the team in preparation for external events, internal presentations etc

Expectations:

  • Establish close relationship to team
  • Build knowledge about tools & internal organizations
  • Build knowledge about specific SAP solutions
  • Demonstrate flexibility and speed

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Student at university or university of applied sciences
  • Preferred field(s) of study (nice to have): Urban planning or public policy/administration or computer science
  • Computer skills (must have): Excellent Microsoft skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Language skills (must have): Fluent in English
  • Soft skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Willing to work in international teams
    • Good networking skills
    • Reporting and analytical capabilities
    • Flexibility and focus on results
    • Proactive and self-dependent working style
    • Goal-orientation and affinity to structure
